First Showing, Cinema Blend, and Collider are all significant movie tracking sites who are instrumental in shaping the buzz for a given film. Following are their reviews of the Legend of Tarzan Trailer released on December 9, 2015.

Warner Bros has debuted the first official trailer for The Legend of Tarzan, the new David Yates movie after the director finished the Harry Potter series. This should be a must watch – it rather surprisingly looks fantastic, much more dark and thrilling and yet still exciting in a very unique way. I’ll be damned, I guess I now have to say I’m looking forward to seeing this. Alexander Skarsgård stars as Tarzan, Margot Robbie as Jane, along with a great cast: Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson, Casper Crump, John Hurt, and Djimon Hounsou. We also posted some first look photos, but there’s a big difference between those and this trailer.
Collider.com is one of the more substantial movie-tracking sites — and this review of the Legend of Tarzan trailer by John Campea, Sr. Produer, trailer gives voice to what might be somewhat typical of the low-expectations, surprised reactions that a lot of viewers are having. I’ve cued in for where the review starts. “Huge spot … I loved — this was the surprise of the day to me. I was not expecting anything very good . . . for whatever reason, there was just a stink to this project. The stink is gone. .. I watched this trailer, I was thoroughly impressed with it. I now cannot wait to see this thing, so for me, it’s a buy.”

While the production behind The Legend Of Tarzan has been rumored to be a problematic undertaking, at the very least our first look at footage from the film makes it look like the anxiety was worth it all the long. Seeing as David Yates is a veteran of the similarly effects heavy Harry Potter series, it’s no surprise that his adaptation of Edgar Rice Burroughs’ seminal work of adventure literature looks rather exciting. Throw in the presence of Tarantino repertory vets Samuel L. Jacksonand Christoph Waltz, and you’ve got a fun time at the movies! Jackson especially seems in top form, as he goads Clayton to own his heritage, prompting our hero to respond in a defiantly elegant manner. The Legend Of Tarzan certainly doesn’t look like it’s going to skimp on the actual action in its proceedings. With all of the vine swinging, gorilla fighting, machine gun toting activity in the confines of the trailer’s two and a half minute running time, it’s definitely safe to say that David Yates’ Tarzan won’t be foregoing the jungle for the drawing room. If anything, it’ll just take a little longer to get to the action, which means that there is ample time to develop a story to get behind in the first act.
