John Picacio illustrates “Under the Moons of Mars”
Disney’s John Carter should steer some moviegoers to the source material of Edgar Rice Burroughs, who in addition to Tarzan’s adventures also wrote Carter’s escapades on Mars in his classic Barsoom series. San Antonio fantasy artist John Picacio adds his own illustrative contribution to the Carter mythos with new art for the new Carter collection Under the Moons of Mars: New Adventures on Barsoom.
Edited by John Joseph Adams, Under the Moons of Marsoffers new original John Carter stories by Peter S. Beagle and other writers. Picacio’s art for the young readers anthology accompanies the story “The Ghost That Haunts the Superstition Mountains” by legendary X-Men scribe Chris Claremont.
