It didn’t have all the mega Schadenfreude that JC had. It slipped under the radar. So it’s being evaluated purely on a business basis, rather than the “psycho graph” that leaves JC as rotting carrion. But ….the good news is, if it gets a sequel, then we can use it as an argument.
Fine blog!
Have you seen what is happening with Pacific Rim? The movie has flopped in the US and is making his money overseas (65% so far vs 75% for John Carter). The gross is so far a little less than John Carter and yet a sequel is rumored. Sure the budget was lower (190M) but it’s interesting regarding what happened to John Carter.
Fun reviews! Rus Wornom presents both books as full of promise, and does a service to ERB fandom.
